In Zhengzhou, there lives another American girl who sings Chinese song well, whose name is Li Shiqi (Katren Hepworth).
在郑州，也生活着一个美国姑娘，她唱中文歌也很好听，她叫李诗琦。
Katren Hepworth (Chinese name: Li Shiqi) is an American student in her third year at Zhengzhou Sias University. As a campus star and a presenter who can speak both Chinese and English, she loves Chinese food and culture, and sings Chinese song very well.
李诗琦是郑州西亚斯学院的一名美国留学生，目前就读大学三年级。她酷爱中国美食和中国文化，是校园红人，是晚会的中英文双语主持，中文歌唱得也很好听。
Shiqi now speaks Chinese well, but before she came to Zhengzhou, her Chinese was not very good. \"Since I came to Zhengzhou, I have been teaching myself Chinese almost every day for two hours, practicing Chinese with my friends for two or three hours, watching Chinese TV series and movies, and keeping diaries in Chinese before going to bed. And whenever I have time, I listen to Chinese songs and hum along with them.\" Shiqi said. In this way, her Chinese is improving day by day.
虽然现在的诗琦中国话说得好，不过在她来郑州之前，中文水平并不高。诗琦说：“自从来到郑州，几乎每天都会自学汉语两小时，跟朋友练习中文两三个小时，看中国的电视剧和电影，睡前写中文日记，一有空儿就听中文歌，还跟着哼唱。”就这样，诗琦的中文水平日渐提高。
\"Zhengzhou is an international metropolis. I would like to thank the teachers and students here for teaching me Chinese and Chinese culture.\" While studying Chinese, Li Shiqi always has a lot of questions, for instance, what is the difference between \"Kai Xin (happy)\" and \"Xi Le (joy)\", what's the meaning of \"Nong Sha (what’s up)”, what is the difference between “Zen Me” and “Za”, which her teachers and classmates always explain to her patiently. “郑州是个国际化大都市，感谢这里的老师、同学和朋友们给我的帮助，让我了解汉语和中国文化。”学习汉语期间，李诗琦总有一肚子问题，比如“‘开心’和‘喜乐’有什么区别”“‘弄啥’是什么意思”“‘怎么’跟‘咋’有啥区别”，对于这些问题，身边的老师和同学总是耐心给她解释，她的中国朋友也总是告诉她：“别着急，慢慢来，慢慢学。”正是因为有了这些鼓励，她对学习汉语更加自信。
\"When I was in the United States, I dared not speak in front of others and I didn't want to socialize.\" Shiqi said she used to be very shy. However, in the school’s international cultural festival two years ago, by chance, a friend invited her to sing a Chinese song \"Tong Hua\", which was her favorite song. She was afraid she wouldn't sing well. Finally, Li Shiqi signed up. Encouraged by the audience, she performed excellently. \"I was really happy after I finished singing that day.\" From then on, she began to be confident, and communicate with others more bravely.
“在美国的时候，我不敢站在别人的面前发言，也不愿意参加活动。”诗琦说自己是个很容易害羞的人，但在两年前学校的国际文化节，很偶然的机会，朋友邀请她去唱一首中文歌《童话》，那是她最喜欢的一首歌。她当时很害怕，担心自己会唱不好。后来，李诗琦还是报了名，并在台下观众的鼓励下，出色地完成了表演。“那天在我唱完之后，我真的好开心。”从此，她开始自信起来，也开始更加勇敢地跟别人交流。
\"I have been a presenter, many times in English and Chinese. At this year's opening ceremony, I also had the honor to be the director's interpreter.” Since that performance, Li has been taking part in many activities. \"Every year, the international cultural festival gives me a chance to share the culture of my hometown with my friends. Sometimes I feel homesick, but I don't feel lonely with the company of my teachers and classmates. Although there are cultural differences between our country and China, Zhengzhou is my second home.”
“我当过主持人，很多次用英文和中文双语来主持。在今年的开学典礼上，我也有幸当了一次理事长的翻译。”从那次表演经历开始，李诗琦就开始参加很多活动，“每一年的国际文化节都给了我机会去和朋友分享我们家乡自己的文化。虽然有时候会想家，但有我身边的老师和同学这个大家庭的陪伴，我就不觉得孤单。我们国家的文化虽然跟中国的文化不一样，但郑州对我来说已是第二个家。”
In Zhengzhou, Shiqi's favorite places to go in her spare time are Erqi Square and Wanbo Plaza, as well as Children Welfare, to visit the children there. Her favorite foods include pancakes, hot pot, fried jelly, steamed vermicelli roll and roast duck, etc. “Too much. I really like Chinese food.” said Shiqi.
在郑州，诗琦课余时间最喜欢去的地方是二七广场和万博商城，还有儿童福利院，去看望那里的孩子们。她最爱吃的食物，包括煎饼、火锅、炒凉粉、肠粉、烤鸭……“太多了，我真的很喜欢中国美食。”诗琦说。
\"Zhengzhou is an interesting place.\" Shiqi said, the most special is the history of Zhengzhou. Like Xinzheng, Zheng&Han old city, has Mount Shizu, the birthplace of Emperor Huangdi; the downtown area, the capital of the Shang Dynasty (BC 1600-BC 1046) in the founding period, has the ruins of the Shang Dynasty's capital. \"Zhengzhou is a city with a long history. Henan dialect is also very special, it is a little difficult for me to understand, but I have learned a little after living here for several years. Particularly resourceful, Zhengzhou people have changed Zhengzhou through their efforts despite the difficulties. Zhengzhou is very beautiful now. I hope I can learn more about the history of Zhengzhou in the future.” Regarding Zhengzhou as her second hometown, she hopes it will develop better and better.
“郑州是个很有意思的地方。”诗琦说，最特别的就是郑州的历史，就像新郑是郑韩故城，有黄帝故里、始祖山；郑州的市中心是商代开国时期的都城，有商都遗址。“郑州是一个很有历史的城市。河南话也很特别，对我来说虽然有点难听懂，不过在这里生活了几年，我也学会了一点。郑州人特别机智，不怕困难，通过努力改变了郑州，现在的郑州特别美。我希望以后还能更多地了解和学习郑州的历史。”作为她第二故乡，诗琦希望郑州的发展越来越好。
During this period of time in Zhengzhou, the Chinese traditional culture has brought Shiqi a lot of feelings. “I like the filial piety in Chinese culture, because I find that Chinese people respect their parents very much. When their parents grow old, they will stay with them to take good care of them. But this is not the case in some other countries.”
在郑州的这段时间里，中国传统文化给诗琦带来很多感触，“我喜欢中国文化里的孝，因为我发现中国人都对父母很尊重，父母老了，会陪伴在一起，照顾好他们的父母。这在其他一些国家，却没有这样。”
In the future, Li Shiqi will continue to learn Chinese. After graduation, she plans to be a teacher to teach more children what she has learned in Zhengzhou, so that they can face themselves with much more confidence and courage and grow up healthily. “I want to teach them how to face problems, how to speak politely, and how to be nice.”
在未来，李诗琦会继续在热爱和学习中文的舞台上发光发热，毕业后她打算当一名老师，把自己在郑州学到的知识教给更多的孩子，让他们可以更自信勇敢地面对自己，健康地成长。“我想教他们怎么面对问题，怎么有礼貌地讲话，怎么做好人。”
This is Shiqi, a happy American girl who loves singing and studies in Zhengzhou.
